Dr. George Dangas is Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) & Surgery (Vascular) at Icahn School of Medicine & the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and Director, Cardiovascular Innovation at Mount Sinai Hospital, NYC. He is TCT Director; text book editor of Interventional Cardiology Principle & Practice (Wiley London); Associate Editor of JACC; Secretary, Executive Committee, SCAI; Professor of Cardiology National Kapodistrian University of Athens and Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna.

After Medical/Doctorate studies at National Kapodistrian University of Athens & Medical Officer, Hellenic Navy he trained in Medicine at Brown University, and Cardiology/Interventional at Mount Sinai. Among the founding faculty of Cardiovascular Research Foundation NYC, he held faculty positions at Lenox Hill Hospital & Columbia University Medical Center; he led the founding of Interventional Fellowship Programs in both.

He served as Trustee of ACC & SCAI, Fellow of ESC & AHA, founder/chair of ACC Interventional Council/Section & Cardiology Chair at Onassis Heart Center, Athens Greece.

He is Master Interventionalist (SCAI), ACC Distinguished Fellow 2019, ACC Distinguished Teacher 2017, and in numerous Top/Super Doctors in WHO listings. Dr. Dangas is the SCAI Incoming President for 2023-2024.
